Obviously, group rates are going to be substantially more price competitive than an individual policy, but there are companies out there such as Blue Cross, and Blue Shield that have individual plans as low as $75 per month. Of course this depends on your age, health, and demographics, but if you want to learn more go to www.theinsurancehero.com.

Liability Insurance
December 30, 2008
Are you under insured? Do you have assets that are unprotected? A lot of times people do not understand how much insurance they truly need. If your in an accident and hurt someone else (an at fault accident for example) and you only have 25/50/25, you may be liable for the remaining bills of that individual.
The first “25″ is what the insurance company is going to pay out to the injured individual. If the individual does not have medical insurance, then you will be liable to any bills incurred after the “25.” These days just one week in a hospital can cost up to $100K. If you have assets, then they are going to sue you for your assets.
The “50″ stands for how much the insurance company will pay out if you injure more than one person. Finally, the last “25″ stands for how much your insurance company will pay out toward the vehicle that you collided with. The max that the insurance company will pay is 25K.
Plaxico Burress being sued for car accident
December 29, 2008
New York Giants star wide receiver is being sued for rear-ending a Miami women in May of 2008. Alise Smith is claiming that Plaxico is not driving at a safe distance behind her, and when she had to brake suddenly she was rear-ended by the Gaints’ player.
Smith has filed a lawsuit requesting 15K in medical expenses as well as lost wages and damages. Burress’ auto insurance policy expired 3 days prior to the accident.
Your insurance coverage premium is paid at the beginning of the month and hence covers you for the subsequent 30 days. Make sure to check with your insurance agent if you have any questions or go to www.theinsurancehero.com for more information.
Plaxico’s insurance would have covered him if he had made timely payments. Make sure that your not exposed to these situations, because if he had hurt her badly, she would be going after a lot more of his salary/assets.
Auto Discounts
December 23, 2008
To receive auto discounts you want to make sure you have placed your auto and home insurance with the same company. A lot of insurance companies give a 10% discount off of your auto if you have the home covered as well. This will add up over time. You can also check with your insurance company if they give professional discounts. Companies such as Mercury give an addition discount (up to 12 percent) for teachers, engineers, lawyers, and more.
A few other discounts that are applied are multiple car discounts, multiple driver, as well as good student/good driver discounts. Usually insurance companies will still honor the good driver discount if you have less than 1 point on your record. Keep in mind that tickets will remain on you record for three years. Another thing to ask is whether or not your insurance company offers direct withdrawal from your bank account. Some companies will giver a lower down payment when you initially sign up for coverage.
Other key factors that affect your rate is how much you drive, your age, where you live, what kind of car you have, how many drivers, your record, how much coverage, and if your using your vehicle for work or pleasure.
